The historic Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg dates back to 1889 and boasts a Queen Anne style. The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and four years later, a complete restoration took place.
The hotel was built by William Chancellor, who is also the ghost that is believed to haunt the place. Some guests have reported seeing a man dressed in a tuxedo, standing in the mirrors. Chancellor must have had a hard time leaving the building he built behind. Other haunting reports at the hotel include ghostly children playing in the hallways and unexplained knocking.
If you're brave enough, the hotel offers ghost tours for those interested in learning more about the hotel's paranormal side.
